The salary range for this position is $24.00 per hour and is non-negotiable.

Under general supervision incumbents perform standard laboratory and/or field experimental research procedures that require some technical and/or scientific knowledge from the appropriate coursework or skills acquired through work experience (for example previously as RAI). Instructions/policies/procedures and research protocols are provided with a progression to an occasional review as more independence is achieved; assignments involve some use of discretion, judgment and innovation.

Examples of research duties at this level include gathering data and sample collection, administering assessments to participants, ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies/equipment, preparing assessment instruments and checking for completeness; coordinating daily research activities such as answering calls, responding to emails, scheduling participants, and taking and distributing meeting minutes. May oversee data collection activities of lower level RA's.

This is an intermediate-level position for incumbents who have some coursework or work experience in a research environment. In addition to the abilities required for the Research Assistant I level, the RAII must be able to quickly learn and apply intermediate research methods and procedures; perform more advanced mathematical calculations, interpret research protocols, and perform more advanced research activities.

Under the supervision of Drs. Dickson and Lind, the purpose of the position is to serve as a primary assessor for Dr. Dickson's project and to support project coordination for Dr. Lind. This includes: participant recruitment and enrollment of participants; communication with study participants, maintaining study records, conducting data collection and entering of data; conducting participant assessments; and general project tasks.

  • Coordination of data collection with study participants, with travel to data collection sites and reliable transportation required
  • Supporting and assisting with data management and analyses, including qualitative and quantitative entry and management
  • Attending study meetings as needed
  • Supporting project coordination and oversight as needed

Other Duties as assigned (5%)

  • Supporting supervision of students and volunteer interns as needed
  • Attend trainings as needed
  • Comply with all Project and SDSURF policies and procedures




Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION



  • Completion of sufficient lower division coursework

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE



  • OR - Equivalent of one year related experience in lieu of coursework
