Job Description: Firearm Range Trainer
Position Overview: Mission 94 is seeking an experienced and dedicated Firearm Range Trainer to join our team and provide comprehensive firearms training to individuals of all skill levels. The Firearm Range Trainer will play a crucial role in educating participants on firearm safety, shooting techniques, and responsible firearm ownership. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of firearms, strong instructional abilities, and a commitment to fostering a safe and empowering learning environment.
Responsibilities:

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in history or strong historical knowledge of military and / or firearms history
Firearm Training:
  • Deliver engaging and informative firearms training sessions to participants with varying levels of experience.
  • Teach fundamental firearm safety rules, proper handling techniques, stance, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control.
  • Instruct participants on shooting accuracy, marksmanship, and efficient reloading methods.
Instructional Design:
  • Adapt training content to meet the needs of different skill levels, learning styles, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Assist with curriculum development on some of our historical firearms pieces. 
Safety Protocol Enforcement:
  • Enforce strict safety guidelines and protocols during all training sessions.
  • Monitor participants' compliance with safety rules and intervene as necessary to prevent unsafe behavior.
One-on-One Coaching:
  • Provide personalized coaching and guidance to participants, addressing their individual challenges and helping them improve their shooting skills.
Educational Presentations:
  • Conduct informative presentations on firearm safety, storage, maintenance, and legal responsibilities.
  • Address participants' questions, concerns, and misconceptions about firearms.
Equipment and Range Management:
  • Ensure all firearms, ammunition, and equipment are well-maintained and safe to use.
  • Oversee the setup and arrangement of shooting ranges to ensure optimal safety and functionality.
Emergency Response:
  • Be prepared to respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies that may occur during training sessions.
  • Administer first aid and coordinate with emergency services if needed.
Customer Interaction:
  • Provide excellent customer service, creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist participants in selecting appropriate firearms and accessories based on their needs and preferences.
Progress Evaluation:
  • Evaluate participants' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their training goals.
  • Develop training plans that allow participants to track their improvement over time.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to firearms training.
  • Ensure all training activities adhere to legal requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Firearms Instructor from a recognized training organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of firearms safety, shooting techniques, and range operations.
  • Strong instructional and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and relatable manner.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience working with individuals of varying skill levels and backgrounds.
  • Ability to create a welcoming and non-intimidating learning environment.
  • Strong observational skills and the ability to identify and correct shooting form and technique.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to stand, demonstrate, and provide instruction for extended periods.

  • Understands the history of firearms, including their development, design, usage, and cultural impact throughout different time periods
  • Comfortable with providing content in a classroom setting 
  • Able to assist in research and the development of curriculum
